On the east coast of the U.S. closed almost all refineries

Hurricane gasoline prices jumped

Because of the approach of a hurricane, "Sandy" on the east coast of the U.S. two-thirds of oil refineries shut down or reduced output. Temporarily shut down production at the plant Hess Corp. capacity of 70 thousand barrels per day, which is located in Port Reading, New Jersey.
Also suspended PBF Energy refinery capacity of 180 thousand barrels per day in southern New Jersey and the company Phillips in the same state, processing 238,000 barrels of oil per day. As a result, in response to a reduction in production gasoline prices began to rise. So, at NYMEX oil futures rose 1.2 percent. At the same time, the futures price of crude oil WTI crude fell by 40 cents to 85.92 dollars per barrel.
